My name is Ed Seiter - I have been looking up my family tree for a few years and have been meaning to post this for the longest time, but something always gets in the way.
Anyway - I'm gonna post this quick and dirty and when I get a chance, I will flesh it out.
My mother is a McGowan - she is the daughter of Margaret Cooper and John McGowan [1899-1975]. For more information on the Coopers, visit http://cooperfamilytree.blogspot.com.
John's parents were Hugh McGowan [b. 1869] and Mary McLoughlin [b. 1872].
Hugh McGowan's parents were John McGowan [b. 1842 or 1843 in Ireland] and Maria Madden [b. 1842].
Mary McLoughlin's parents were Michael McLoughlin [alt spelling McLaughlin] [ b. 1845 in Ireland] and Frances Blakney [b. 1848].
A genealogy website claims that John McGowan's [b. 1842 or 1843] were John McGowan [b. 1809, Ireland] and Bridget McNee [b. 1810, Ireland], but I have not been able to confirm that yet.
I will clean this up and add all the siblings when I can - being Irish, there are many.
